About Blockchain

Blockchain is a technology that enables secure data exchange. A database is a structure where data is stored. Transactions are documented in a ledger, which is a bookkeeping ledger.

A blockchain is defined as a distributed database or ledger because the ability to update is distributed among nodes or participants of a public or private computer network. This type of technology is called Distributed Ledger Technology (DLT). Nodes are incentivized with digital tokens or cash for updating blockchain.

Thus, thanks to blockchain technology, data can be securely shared and verified. Each block contains a reference to the previous block, creating a link between blocks that ensures data integrity. This distributed structure allows data to be securely shared and processed without relying on a single central authority.
